We explored a range of eLearning methods, innovations and technologies to better prepare them for a rapidly changing workplace. The objective was to learn how to create state of the art eLearning content using the context of culture and heritage. The material created during the course was shared collectively with colleagues for immediate use within and outside the classroom. Teachers learnt to create learning materials using readily available (mostly free) software and applications. The topics, which were set in the context of a visit to a museum or heritage site, were introduced by lectures, study trips and hands-on experience.
I was at the Digital Extra Course in Istambul within the Erasmus + project. During this course we talked about "What is a museum? ", digital exhibitions and city as a museum. It was very interesting for me as an Art Teacher. I had the occasion to see a museum from a different perspective. My group and I were also introduced to e-learning and mobile learning by using different tools for example QR codes. I learnt how to produce a video on mobile devices, that there are programmes to create 360° photos and about augmented reality. Before I didn't know that such things even existed and I had never imagined that you can create those things on your little smartphones.
Now I need to practice using all those tools and gain some experience. Then I will be ready to create something awesome with my students. I can't wait! Stay tuned!
